Hi there and welcome to the ‘development’ phase of our new website. You are looking at ‘work in progress’, and not all of the buttons are working yet. As I said, work in progress.
The ‘donate’ section is being refined. When live, the user will firstly reach a page that outlines the details of the trial, the participating hospitals and medical teams involved, and they will also be able to see the financial breakdown of what is required to fund the trial.
If they wish to donate – they need to register their email address so we can link their donation to their name. One of the key points for us is that we wish to be totally accountable in everything we do. It is vital that we can communicate news about each trial with the person who has donated, and also to be able to thank each donor.
While all funds received effectively go into the one pot, there will be different accounts for each trial. That way the donor’s money goes to the trial of their choice. They stay in control.
The right hand section with the pink buttons will give all the details about the cancers and treatments.
Where humanly possible, the intention will be to provide the patient (or GP) with information about where they can get PDT from. Unless we complete that link, our service to the patient or their carer is incomplete.
Where the treatment is a trial, the person enquiring can be directed to the trial leader and find out more information. Importantly, they can also potentially enroll in the trial.
This website will replace the existing KILLING Cancer site at the end of June, 2009.
I would like to also confirm that Richard Marshall is now working with the charity on a voluntary basis, and is empowered by me to represent the charity in discussions with commercial partners.
