Oesophageal Cancer

For many years, oesophageal cancer has had a NICE recommendation for the palliative treatment of oesophageal cancer.

Now, a team in Scotland is planning to take the development of PDT for this condition one stage further, with the hope being to create a new version of the treatment that might offer real hope to oesophageal cancer patients.

In the case of the pre-cancer – Barrett’s – PDT effectively works to re-condition the interior lining of the oesophagus. Diseased cells wither and die, and the body’s own natural cell mapping system replaces old with new and healthy cells.

Now, Dr Grant Fullarton and his team at Gartnavel in Glasgow need funding to develop their concept.

We have agreed to promote this trial procedure, with the intention of Dr Fullarton enrolling others in the UK and the USA to develop this procedure.

We believe that this is an important possible new development with PDT, and would offer new hope to patients who might otherwise have little hope.

We urge all readers to consider donating funds for this trial.
