Cervical Cancer

There has been so much publicity of late about cervical cancer, and while millions have been raised, we suspect that all the funds will go into developments with chemo and radiotherapy treatments.

The truth is that PDT and cervical cancer go together like a hand and glove. This is one of the most obvious PDT applications, taking lessons from the brilliant work by Colin Hopper and others with mouth cancer.

In the mouth, PDT can target surface illumination, and using interstitial techniques, go deep into the tissue.

As with PDT in the mouth, there would be no loss of ‘function’ and no need for tissue removal with a PDT adaptation. For the patient, this is a ‘win-win’ PDT treatment.

Our search is on to find the teams in UK and US hospitals to start the research, and we think we have found them in Scandinavia. They would probably head the trial teams having already completed a few highly successful, experimental procedures on patients.

Where do we go from here? It is money that we need.

You can donate now to ring-fence your donation to this campaign. Just go to the section bottom left and the process should be easy.

As with all these trials, if you register your email address, we will send you regular updates on how your funds are being used, and how progress with the trial is going.
